Over the past few months, I’ve spoken around the country, helping business owners understand the importance of online advertising.
Below is a slide I’ve used in that presentation and some summary points as well.
While many business owners see the need to invest money to reach a larger audience, many are only using organic marketing.
Organic marketing means free marketing such as email newsletters, Tweets and etc.
The problem is that many social networks restrict how much of an audience you can reach – UNLESS you spend money.
With online advertising you can a) reach a larger audience b) see more metrics of who your audience is and c) often for very little cost control the advertising message you want to show.
Where can you advertise online?
- Search Engines
- Websites and blogs
- Social media networks
- Mobile apps
When advertising online, understand your goals.
Be clear on who your target market is, so you can speak their language.
Test your advertising to see what works and what does not work.
